FSA maintains a pistol range that will accommodate up to 40 shooters simultaneously. The range is approximately 60 yards deep and target stanchion points are provided at 25 and 50 yards from the covered firing line, allowing shooting in all weathers. Shorter distances can also be fired under most circumstances.
The pistol range is divided into two sections by a concrete isolation wall, allowing each half of the range to operate independently of the other. Thus, even when an organized shooting event is scheduled on the pistol range, often the “other half” remains available for casual shooters.
A heated and air conditioned Pistol House is available, offering drinking water and a cool (or warm) place to relax, clean guns, or just meet with others sharing your interest in handgun shooting. Port-O-Let restroom facilities are available on the range and full facilities are always available in the clubhouse, just a short walk away.
The pistol range offers the ideal environment for casual fun shooting, serious target practice, competition events, and teaching new shooters good skills and habits with most handguns and rimfire smallbore rifles. Our Youth section makes use of half of the pistol range regularly introducing Boy Scouts, American Heritage Girls, and other outside groups, as well as our own youth program – Hotshots – to the fundamentals of smallbore rifle shooting.
This range is also host to our frequent concealed carry training classes and sees numerous handgun events of many types each week. If you’re a pistol or revolver shooter, FSA has the facility for you. And if you’re already a competitor, we’ve probably got an event in your discipline to challenge you to new and better skills.
