Mission Statement

We as a group of Instructors and members of Fairfield Sportsmen’s Association subscribe to and endorse the precepts and teachings of the National Rifle Association in all training regarding modern rifle, pistol, and shotgun, muzzle loading rifle, pistol and shotgun. We also offer formal classes on a need and request type basis from the members of the association. They are:
“Home Firearm Safety”
“Personal Protection”
“Reloading”

We support Ohio Hunter Safety and once a year offer the hunter safety course offered by Ohio Division of Wildlife Instructors.
We have a full staff of NRA Certified Instructors that are authorized, ready, and willing to help teach and advise youth groups that use our facility. Some of the youth groups that we support, other than our own group called “The Hotshots” are the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4 H Club members and most recently the Heritage Girls.

The Chief Instructor is also the Association’s Chief Range Safety Officer; in the performance of his duties acting in this capacity. He trains and maintains a list of Range Safety Officers who are employed by F.S.A. Their main job is to ensure safe operation of all the ranges by enforcing the rules of conduct and by laws of the club’s constitution and Range Safety Rules.

Our Chief Instructor is approved to teach the Ohio CCW (Concealed Carry Law; Ohio revised code 2923.125). He is approved by the Ohio Attorney General to issue and award certificates to all those who pass this special course.

The CCW Course is just one of the many we have to offer; not only to our club members but in the interests of promoting safe gun handling and good sportsmanship in all the varied shooting sports. In our interests of being good neighbors, we offer and open all of our classes to the community as a service to the general public.
